Review: Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

So I've been giving this puppy a whirl for a few months.

I've never been one for fancy products, but now I've experienced the magic I might be more inclined to treat myself every now and then with a luxury skincare product.

This is a white cream which goes on and dries colourless, and it smells great although a little artificial. It only comes in 50ml tubes, but you'd be hard pressed to use more than that before the expiration date. A little goes a long way. Or at least I think it does. I've never used a cream mask before but I just take a small blob of it and smooth it over my face like I would a moisturiser. My eye area is quite sensitive and this is an exfoliating product so I steer especially clear of that region. I leave it on for 15-20 minutes before washing it off with warm water. It's a bit of a pain to remove because it's invisible. It's a bit like washing out conditioner - you just have to keep rinsing until you get a feeling in your soul and you just know.

Its supposed to have anti-ageing properties and I am only 18, but you're never too young to look younger, amirite? I don't know how it would fair with actual mature skin, but I've noticed a reduction in the fine lines on my forehead from over-enthusiastic eyebrow stretching during mascara application, so that's nice.

As for the other effects, it claims to purify and regenerate the skin, which in my opinion it does. My skin is left feeling clean, smooth refreshed. What I did like about it is the unexpected cooling sensation it has. I've also noticed a reduction in my acne scarring which is a big deal for me since my skin scars like you wouldn't believe. I planned to do a before and after shot, but I've had horrific breakouts due to exam stress so maybe we'll save that for another time.

The packaging is nice. It looks expenseive and so it should since it retails for £29.50. You can find it online at lookfantastic.com as well as major department stores. Overall, its a great product. A little pricey but definitely worth it if you're looking for something that will brighten and regenerate.
